ROYAL COPENHAGEN™

Blue Palmette Porcelain Cup & Saucer

DESIGNED BY: Karen Kjaeldgard Larsen
MANUFACTURED BY: ROYAL COPENHAGEN
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: DENMARK

The Blue Palmette dinnerware series is decorated with fragments from the Blue Fluted service, combined in a new and exciting way. The name Blue Palmette refers to the 230 year old Blue Fluted decoration, palmette being a technical term for the stylised palm leaf which is hand painted on all pieces. The Blue Palmette lends an air of history and context to Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee served within the cup. The shape of the service itself one will find references to the Royal Copenhagen heritage - the three wavy lines. They can be seen in relief on the edges of all the plates and dishes. These were originally created by Queen Juliane Marie (1729 -96) as part of Royal Copenhagen's logo, a logo symbolising the three waters of Denmark, a logo which today is known the world over.
